A poster series displaying a call to action for awareness and support of the protecting of natural resources.
I chose for my concept to represent the non -profit organization National Resource Defense Council. They focus on raising awareness of the negative effects of the overuse of natural resources. I wanted to create a poster series that gave the viewer both an awareness as well as a visual representation of the negative effects by showing the aspects of nature being destroyed.

The initial concept for this poster series was to create 3 united posters displaying a call to action in a way that represented the message through the design choices.
I began with a series of sketches to sort out my ideas. Initially, I wanted to incorporate more abstract shapes to represent 3 different types of natural resources: the forrest, the arctic and oil & gas.
As I worked through the actual digital design of the posters, I found the stark background colors and mid-century modern aesthetics held the boldness I wanted for the messaging. So instead of abstract shapes, I decided to use simple clean shapes as frames of the natural resources being wrongfully used.
